Nick Arnull is particularly well known for his pioneering work in creating coloured and textured items some of which are included in his book “Contemporary Woodturning Techniques and Projects”. He has also produced two DVD’s, and his nesting boxes are in the Daniel Collection on display here at Wizardry in Wood.
Having always had a driving ambition to become a full-time artist discovering the joy of making three dimensional tactile objects gave him an outlet for his creativity, allowing the production of decorative and functional items. With an early background of Art School, ceramics and masonry this has helped him create texture and coloured turned wooden objects. The routine and discipline of spindle work allows him to focus upon technique, while thinking freely about ideas that may one day become finished pieces.
Nick Arnull lives in Norfolk, an internationally respected Turner, author and contributor to the Woodturning magazine. He is constantly in demand to teach and demonstrate around the World and here in the UK.
Woodturning for Nick is a way of life.
‘I am a hand turner delivering high quality products.
Having undertaken most aspects of woodturning for Furniture and Cabinet makers, Restorers, Joiners, Builders and Architects, I am able to work from photographs, drawings sketches or even samples. I prefer to work with timber supplied by the client allowing them to maintain and control timber quality. If its door knobs, newel posts table legs or one off items I endeavour to turn work around quickly and efficiently charging a fair price for each job.’
